Not For the faint at heart
While this extender is a great piece of equipment , It takes some time to understand. Not too much a plug and play device depending on what type of Modem or Router that you have. If you have a mesh system it is even harder to configure. ( so with any other extender ). TP has 3 documented ways of installing that is pretty good if you have a plain jane or generic system and all three of them work. But if you have a mesh system it takes much more to install.Over all the device works as described and does a very good job. It just takes a little more patience.Update: The unit I bought was a reconditioned unit and it failed after a few weeks. So I did a return and purchased the Netgear EX 6250. So far that was easier to install and so far works much better, but a slight bit slower as advertised compared to the TP-Link.

Well that was easy
Exactly what I was looking for. It took maybe 5 mins to set it all up with the tether app. It sets up a separate wifi name that you need to connect to wish it were on the same network but it’s fine. Glad it works with any kind of router I didnt even need any of the router info just needed to be connected to the wifi. The rest is basically automatic. Glad I can change the extender wifi name easily. I connected my surveillance system to the extender with a ethernet cable and it works great. Im shocked by how easy it all was

Great WIFI booster
I put this at the end of my house and now I get good WIFI 150′ away inside my workshop. Works great. Used it with starlink. One downside is I have to unplug it when I’m in the house because it interferes with the already weak cell phone service

Strong wifi signal, easy to set up (once you log onto the extender’s IP address)
At my router, my wifi signal is 700Mbps, but in my living room (where the TV is) it was on 20Mbps, and in the backyard less than 5Mbps! I placed the extender in the living room in a plug with a clear shot down the hall toward the router, and viola, 300Mbps in the far half of the house (where my TV Firestick is) and 100Mbps in the backyard. I found that once I logged into extender’s IP address, the set up for both 2.4 and 5GHz quite easy. (I elected to keep the SSID and pswd the same as the router.) Very happy.

Upset my network, caused major problems
Worked fine for a while.I have a full home network with about 90 devices. And four TP-Link Range Extenders.Started having all sorts of problems with devices on my home network not connecting. Was running a WiFi analyzer, and by chance saw that one of my devices was on another non-routable network.Turns out it was suddenly handing out non-routable addresses to other devices.I removed it from my network, and for the last two weeks my home network has never been so stable.

Dont waste your money.
Definitely easy to install, but I dont feel that this added any better quality signal to deadspots than I already had. Plus, I had frequent internet dropouts when this was connected; my connection never drops without it. Dissatisfied enough that I returned it.

Para instalar me tarde casi 2 horas porque no era facil, y la instruccion de hoja viene en idioma ingles, tuve que buscar en youtube para seguir la instalacion de aplicacion y seguir el proceso. pero terminando esto funciona bien.

I bought a refurbished one as it was only to extend my existing OneMesh network to my garage. I need to tinker some more for this to work as its just on the border of my signal range to work comfortably in the garage. However, plugged in by the garden door – its range extendibility to the garden is fantastic, with a signal easily up to 20m away! Great product if you already have the TP Link ecosystem, but also extends other networks too (works on my Deco Mesh to extend that signal)

Easy to set up and works perfectly well.

Signal strength is on par with main router, allows a wired connection to console. Bit fiddly having to keep having to reposition the antenna (they donât stay upright and fall with the slightest movement)

I got this to replace an old Belkin one that was best part useless. Upstairs it would get me between 2mb and 20mb tops. This is now regularly at 43-45MB down, and 8-9mb up. Sometimes faster than if I was using the router itself, sitting next to it!That’s the good stuff. The bad stuff now. Thankfully not much of it.The item was a reconditioned one, but there was no instruction in it at all. Usually you do the WPS button, but even that wasn’t that clear. In the past you would click that button, then click it on the Router, but reading about it, you can use an App. So I got that, but when you go to ‘Settings’ of the app, it just goes to ‘Settings’ of the Phone, and the app name didnt’ appear. App: deleted!I looked it up online and it said to use the big WPS button (the big round one). Did that, and yep, it connected. Normally would you then see a new Wifi connection to use, but one didnt’ show, and they disappeared. But then after a short time, my PC connected to something… and it was a newly named {current-wifi}_5G, which is sooooo fast.No regrets buying it. Bit of pain at the start, but now it connects easy.It is big – yes. Bigger than most hands, and it has those four strange ‘arms’, but you forget about that. And enjoy the performance.4 Stars only because of the difficulty in connecting it and understanding it.3 Stars as I couldnt’ find anything on the TP website about it, and the App they suggest, is really pointless.
