It works! Great value.
I bought this because my swimming pool Jandy iAquaLink 2 Wi-Fi device was not working with my Spectrum Wi-Fi router. This extender, placed about halfway between the router and the iAquaLink, works perfectly! It was easy to set up. Because I donât have a compatible mesh Wi-Fi router, this worked only as an extender, which means it has a separate Wi-Fi name. It has been stable for a few hours now.

Almost as easy to connect as advertised. Used to make Magicjack wireless. Just bought a second one.

My Ring cam likes it
My Ring outdoor camera is on the opposite side of the house from my WiFi router. I was getting a low signal notification and couldnât figure out why as everything else works fine. Well, the family roomâs Echo devices were very slow to commands at times. I saw this and remembered that I used to have a cheap one like this one. I will bet that I still have it somewhere in the attic/home office. It was less than effective, so I abandoned the idea. Having used this name brand in the past, I decided to try it again. Setup was effortless and the low signal notification disappeared and the Echo works like the ones upstairs! I decided to use this for all of my Ring devices and havenât had any issues!

Very close to Wifi Router. Still Dropping Signal Every Day
I have had this for one week and when it is connected it works great. The signal is boosted in a room where it was weak without this. However, it drops off randomly at least once a day. It is within a great range of the original wifi router. This is because I can still get the original wifi signal in the room I need but it is weak. This extender is placed between this room and the router and is maybe 15 feet away from the router, just around a corner of a wall. I know that getting the signal from the router is not the problem.I do like the app. I am savvy enough not to need it but it does make it easy. Unfortunately I have had to use it every day to figure out why it keeps dropping. Very frustrating when you are trying to work from home. There is a chance you can get a lemon, like I did.

Be sure your internet router is not “blended” before installation
I believe the “Quick Installation Guide” should come with a “pre-step” before you follow the installation instructions. You need to contact your internet provider to determine if your router is “blended”. If your router has both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and BOTH use the SAME Wi-Fi name AND password, you need to get the 2.4 GHz to be segregated to allow connection to this Range Extender. It took several hours with calls (including wait times) to my internet provider and TP-Link support to finally get this resolved in order for the Extender to work. I initially used the “chat function” for TP-Link Support and that was also a laborious process. It seems the Support representative is answering several chats as the same time so I would answer a question and then wait 2-5 minutes for a response. This took almost a half hour until we got to the “blended” issue that required resolution first. (I recommend you call TP-Link Support rather than using the Chat function if you have a “blended” router.) Once my internet provider segregated my 2.4 GHz setting, the Extender was easy to set up. As for the product itself, it has extended the range of my wireless internet to my back bedroom, but only slightly. I at least have the minimum amount (one “dot”, not two or three “waves”), but it’s better than no wireless at all. I tried to move the Extender another 10 feet closer to the hallway, but that was out of the range for the Extender to connect to my router. However, for $20, it does provide wireless to the back room, but the installation process was NOT “quick”.

It’s a Great WIFI Extender / Repeater. Recommended to Extend WIFI at Hotels or Campgrounds.
It’s marketed as Amazon Renewed, as far as I can tell it’s new, had the proper documentation and packaging. Unit was dusty outside, I wiped it off and it looks like new. Install was easy, according to the manual. I’m using it in an RV Park that has not great WIFI coverage. I picked this spot which is one of the better ones, but even outside the RV it’s intermittend, sometimes 3 MB/s and sometimes 20 MB/s (all downlink speeds), sometimes signal drops to less than two bars and the internet drops out. Inside the RV of course it’s worse. I thought perhaps an inexpensive extender placed just outside the RV would help. First I tried a Netgear EX2700, and although it helped some when the signal dropped out it was no faster, usually slower – I was getting from 0.3 MB/s to 2 MB/s, every now and then a burst at 3. I’ve just installed this TP Link model – install was easy, and the results are amazing. Plugged in to the power pole just next to the RV, dealing with the variable signal strength and bandwidth of the RV Park’s system, and here inside the RV I’m getting a stable five bar signal with bandwidth between 10MB/s on the low end up to 50 MB/s at times. I had seen it in a CNET review titled, “The best wifi extender for almost everybody”. Thank you CNET!If you are looking for a travel companion to help amplify weak WIFI signals I highly recommend this one.

Has Its Limitations
Does a great job of capturing a weak wifi signal from my house 60 feet away and rebroadcasting it inside the cabin it’s placed in. On the downside: I originally placed it upstairs but it was struggling to stream on the TV downstairs (about 30 feet distance). I ended up placing it within 20 feet of the TV in the same room and it is working great. I can stream Roku on the TV and watch Youtube on my phone at the same time with no lag. Also, not understanding why, but to connect the Roku TV with the extender required me to set it up as a ‘hotel’ TV. It flat refused to connect to the extender any other way (I’m assuming it has something to do with the TV connecting with the extender which in turn is connected to my wifi). The problem with that is that every time internet goes down due to power loss, unplugging, etc., I have to go thru the whole process of setting up the TV again because it doesn’t auto connect.I do like it for capturing weak signals, though.
