Great speeds, easy to connect
My old card (a cheaper, lower speed TP-Link model) has been going out for a few months now. At the times it wasn’t just disconnected fully, it was only getting around 90-120 or less up/down. This card is a wonderful upgrade. I just plugged it in so I can’t speak for longevity, but I will update review in the future if I experience any issue.

Great Wifi 6E Adapter
I purchased this Tp Link wifi 6E adapter to go along with my new Tp Link Deco wifi 6E mesh system. I wanted to utilize the 6GHz band for my pc and backhaul because my house isnât wired with ethernet cable. I had installed the adapter to my pc and it was fairly easy to do. After installing the adapter to my pc I went into the Deco app for my mesh system and switched on the 6GHz band for wireless clients and backhaul. The 6GHz band on the Deco has to be a different id then the other two bands. I went to the pc and scanned the wifi signals for the 6GHz id, nothing was there. I tried a few other adjustments and still no wifi 6 id to choose from. Not having any other wifi 6E devices in the house so I could verify the problem.I then reached out to TP Link support via web chat on there website. The first CSR that helped me asked a lot of questions about my pc and Deco mesh system. Then he passed me onto his supervisor. The supervisor asked a few more questions and then said he would get back to me via email later with a solution. I thought sure I would never hear back from them again. But to my surprise I got and email that same night at around 8:30pm saying that I needed to upgrade my pc OS from Windows 10 to 11 for the card to work on the 6GHz band.So I did the Windows upgrade, that took about 1 hour. After the upgrade I searched for the 6GHz id from my Deco 6E system and there it was. The problem was fixed!I wanted to thank the TP Link support staff for helping me through this glitch and following through with everything till it was resolved. The Archer 6E adapter works amazing and I have noticed my ping time get better. The Deco 6E mesh system ping for me is usually around 10 or 14ms. I used to get a ping time with Velop system at around 19 to 21ms. The speed for me is like being wired to ethernet. I can now remove the ethernet cable out of the haulway.

No issues with performance, but what’s with the heatsink?
The heatsink sits 1/8″ above the chip with no contact. The top of the heatsink sits flush on the PCB where there are no components, but more importantly not allowing any ventilation. So, air being an insulator is not transferring that heat to the heatsink, its just getting hot, then doing what hot does and diffuse upwards…to that blocked heatsink which at this point has only served to collect hot air. So it has to travel along the top until it can exit from the front or back of the card.Maybe someone who is actually qualified can explain if I am wrong or right. With that said, the performance is great for wireless, but it is still wireless. I have not personally used anything I can say performed faster, except wires.I was impressed with how well the bluetooth worked. BT is almost always my last resort, but the range on this might finally be close to what they promised on the box 10 years ago :)Heatsink looks pretty, but ummm any engineers out there?
