What is it – A PoE to USB C splitter to split the PoE+ signal (802.3at) into gigabit Ethernet and 5V/4A DC power, which could be adapted to USB-C or 5521 barrel port.

I had no idea this existed, but I wish I had years ago. Its allowed me to replace several devices power cables, and go from 2 to a single one. Seriously, this just works, get one and don’t look back.

Gets the job done at a great price.
Bought a new house that had Ethernet cables run to various access points. Wanted to use these for a wifi mesh network, but the access points had no power outlets at them. These PoE splitters worked perfectly to allow me to power the wifi access points without having to run 110V circuits. (Note that you have to have a PoE network switch to provide the power these splitters need.)

50% success getting >= 5V to power RPi4
One of the two ordered provided under 5 vdc and RPi4 running bookworm reported low voltage. USB Digital Tester showed 4.9 vdc and less than 1 amp current. Tried the other and it is providing 5.25 vdc with a 1.3 amp draw running geekbench and 5.3 vdc with .71 amp draw. These two splitters are nearing 1 year old and they may have performed like this before today (11/27/2023) but memory fails.One out of two provided sufficient power => 50% success.Dec. 11, 2023 Update:UCTronics reached out to me with an unsolicited refund for the under-performing unit. This is my first experience with a vendor doing this and because the other unit performed perfectly, I asked for and they agreed to a replacement unit.That replacement has now been running for over a week with no instances of my RPi4 reporting undervoltage. The splitter maintained voltage and current at idle and during a multi-core benchmark that attempted to increase power draw. (See photo.)This is exemplary vendor behavior. I very much appreciated their offer and am very happy with the outcome.

Works great for plugging in wifi access points, Hue Hubs, and Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant
I use these around my house and in my networking closet to plug in 5v devices. USBc power connection and the Ethernet port are great. I also use these for Wifi extension points like Google Wifi and some POE Security Cameras. I keep a couple spares of these around at all times as they have tons of uses now that more devices are USBc and Ethernet is low voltage and easy to run around your house.

My hobby is listening to various radio signals. This splitter is great for powering a device on my roof but produces a lot of interference. I know this isnât probably an issue for most people but I have to unplug it if I want to hear anything besides static.

I originally bought cheaper PoE adapters but my Google Nest Wifi pods (2023 version) would crash and flake out. With this adapter the Nest Wifi is fine. I have had 2 running for a while now and the network is stable.

Update (June 8th) : I’ve ordered another unit from another seller and I received it the next day. This time, the splitter was really from Uctronics and It worked out of the box.I’ve ordered 2 UCTRONICS PoE Splitter USB-C 5V – Active PoE to USB-C Adapter. The splitters received are not form UCTRONICS. And both unit are defective. The power is delivered through the USB-C interface but the ethernet port is dead on both units.

I have had no issues with this device, contrary to other reviews. Remember this is a 5V 4A (5×4=20W) so will need PoE+ 802.3at, as opposed to 802.3af which can only supply 15.4WThis device powers RPI4 & RPI5 but unfortunately appears to be no longer available.

I have two of these and they don’t work with my Raspberry Pi 4sWhen connected to a PoE source, but with the Pi powered independently, you can connect to the pi through the PoE adaptor, but when Pi powered by the adaptor, while the Pi boots fine, the network connection through the adaptor no longer works
