I have an unusual application and this little fan is perfect for it.
This little fan is not quiet, but it is not loud either. And it provides a steady flow of cool air that is surprisingly much stronger than my other USB fans, even at top speed. (They are larger, bulkier, 3-speed models.) I imagine that laptop users who often work in hotter climates will find it very convenient and effective. It is small and relatively flat (compared to other USB fans) and can be easily stowed in a laptop case. It seems strong enough for the purpose since the fan blades are protected by a sturdy plastic cage. It does not feel fragile so I imagine it travels well.I use a smart plug to operate a water distiller on a specific schedule. This works great during cooler months, but in summertime, the smart plug tends to overheat and shut down before the distilling cycle is complete. I needed a small fan to provide additional cooling during hot days to prevent this. But I didn’t want to use-up counter space for it and I wanted it to switch on or off only when the distiller was running and only on hot days. I also needed the fan to be switchless, (on while connected) so that it works automatically when power is provided and I don’t have to manually switch the fan on, which I sometimes forgot to do. Everything else can be programmed with another smart plug using the same app that controls the distiller smart plug.I used an old cellphone charging adapter to power the fan from another smart plug that is switched on or off whenever the distiller is running and/or the ambient temperature requires additional cooling. (See photo.) This is an unorthodox application for this USB fan device, but it is the perfect solution for my distiller set-up, which is now working flawlessly.

Great value/mobility/function for the price (but loud)
As another reviewer pointed out, this item is a GEM on the airplane! Yes, it’s loud AND only has one speed (high) AND has no on/off (on once plug into USB). HOWEVER, all of that pales into comparison of how lightweight/easy it is to carry on in personal-use bag that’s already crammed full of other electronics, snacks, & travel comfort aids–as well as how easy it is to use, include rotating the head towards the passenger next to you as well as bending the neck down to cool legs/feet! I preferred plugging it directly into my mobile charging bank which fit great into the plane’s seat-back in front of me. VOILA, my own personal, hands-free fan in a very stuffy airplane cabin. YES, several in my group suffering hot flashes asked to borrow it until the plane took off and the cabin temp cooled down. It also works great plugged into the extra USB in the back of my laptop, as once again the noise level of the fan in that setting fits fine. It was too noisy to use in church and the movie theatre. For specific uses, I highly recommend as nothing out there comes close filling those needs.

Broke within 48 hours
I liked it – really good airflow for a small USB fan and the gooseneck was convenient. A little loud but not unreasonable. But then it broke before hitting 2 days in my house. Returned it.

Good, small, does not work with all power sources
Neat little fan. A little noisy. Works with my home power strip and my two 10k power banks but not my larger 20k Anker power bank for some reason. I wish it was a little lighter. My scale says it’s 51 grams. Stiff but flexible so it stays where I bend it. Overall a decent purchase. Will keep me sane backpacking in the summer.

powerful, but so loud
I wanted a little, unobtrusive fan to plug into my desktop that would cool me down when our building is a bit stuffy. While the fan is certainly very powerful, it is extremely loud. I have a tower fan & a dehumidifier in my office that are both quieter.I work in a library, so I will not be able to use this when I am at the public desks. I’ll really only be able to use it when at my computer in my office, while wearing headphones. If you want a powerful, inexpensive fan and have somewhere to plug it in, get this, but not if you will need to be near other people who can hear and/or in a quieter environment.

No power button
This fan is very powerful. It does seem a little noisey. It does not have an on/off button. It also is only one speed.UPDATE: I LOVE this fan. I had surgery earlier this year and was able to being this and an external battery pack. It lasted on the battery pack for about 12 hours and it’s a small pack. It will fit in my purse if needed. It has kept me cool throughout this summer. I will definitely buy another one when I wear this one out. But I really wish it came with an on/off switch.

Quite loud little fan moves a good bit of air
The fan moves more air than the other one I have about the same size. But that comes with it making a fair bit of noise. Its not just wind noise – its that sort of whiny electric motor noise that’ll quickly give you a headache. Its noisy enough I can’t see it being useful for most of the use cases you’d buy it for. You definitely don’t want to be sitting near it for any length of time. With that said, it moves a lot of air for its size.

I ordered them to provide some cooling for hot power adapters in my mini server setup, but both fans that I ordered stopped working within 1-2 weeks. They started grinding and slowing down, then stopping. They are obviously not designed for 24/7 operation.

I bought this to cool a raspberry pi.The gooseneck is great – it can bend back far enough on itself, to position over the raspberry pi board. The cooling capacity is good, for a small fan. It achieved 52 degrees celsius on a Pi 3b+ board at max load, when combined with a 1cm sq copper heatsink. However, the fan noise is very loud – I measured 57db from ~30cm away. It also has a high pitched frequency, somewhere around 600-650hz, and it definitely doesnât sound like a hum at that frequency.Buyers might also consider a bigger, but slower moving fan, as moving to a 10cm fan achieved a 13db decrease in noise level, for only a +4 degrees celsius increase in maximum temperature. The 10cm fan also sounded like a space heater, much more pleasant!I canât comment on the longevity, as it was too noisy for my use case and stopped using it.
