It works, but not well
I needed to add a repeater in my mother-in-laws apartment so that she can get a better signal in her room. I ordered the #VONETS based on the specs and what she needed from her WiFi. The directions are difficult to follow and the images in the manual do not match the screens. I was eventually able to get it configured and connected. When I tested it out, it did get her devices connected. I was curious at the speed, so I ran a speed test and the best download speed I was able to get was just over 7 Mbps. So, I reset the device and tried again. I played with some of the settings to no avail. Perhaps I got a bad unit or perhaps it’s just the best it’ll get. I can’t recommend this device for use as a repeater.

Poor instructions and weak signal
I’ve used similar devices before, both to give wifi abilities to devices that don’t have them (older printers, etc) and as wifi extenders. This one was not fun to setup. The instructions don’t match the device, so you have to figure a lot out yourself. Once I got it connected, as others have said, the signal was weak. I run a good network with multiple APs, so the problem was definitely on this device.

Decent Wi-Fi extender (seems as good as most more expensive ones)
I got this device to use strictly as a wifi extender, so my review reflects only that function. This is a pretty decent wifi extender. I have come to conclude that not a single one of them is that great & that a mesh setup is about the only way to have the best results. That said, I have also used wifi extenders, some with success…some not so much. This extender did pick up my signal & seemed to boost it. How much is hard to say since I’m not boosting over much distance. I just needed a slight boost to reach the back bedrooms with a decent signal.Setup wasn’t too bad…the instructions are pretty easy to follow. Do yourself a favor & use the hardwire option to connect between the wifi extender & your laptop/pc. I connected wireless & was continually frustrated at it dropping the extender connection & going back to my normal wifiOnce connected to the computer, setup is pretty easy, but it sometimes would just sit there perpetually “spinning” like it’s doing something, only it really wasn’t. When I exited out of the browser where I had connected with it, I discovered the changes had actually taken place. Kinda strange, but not really a big dealPricewise, this device is a little more than some but it’s because it offers such flexibility, so I won’t knock it for that just because of my own limited usage of it. It seems like a pretty flexible, capable device, & the setup was surprisingly straightforward.I can certainly recommend this as a wifi extender, even though I can’t comment on its other features. I may try this out at my son’s place at some point, just to see how it does extending a wifi signal over a much longer run.

Makes No Difference
There were written instructions included. Too bad they did not match the screen from the device. There is a link for a video. Too bad it also does not match the screen from the device ad has no additional useful advice. Nevertheless, I was able to get this set up as a repeater. It flashed blue to show it was syncing up.But it made no difference in the signal strength. So, it is useless to me.Perhaps the problem is that it covers only one band and my wifi has two (as do most). Perhaps it is because it only transmits 300Mbps when my wifi is three times faster. Anyway, it is useless to me.Also, it annoys me that the device requires two antennas to be installed and provides two lockwashers with teeth and two split lockwashers but there is nothing to say which lockwasher goes closest to the antenna. Further annoying is the failure to include a power block without disclosing that fact on the Amazon web page. The instructions are poorly translated and hard to follow.

Too expensive for what it is
I can only recommend this if you need a repeater/bridge that is USB powered because these are rare. This hardware is from 2012 and the price does not reflect that. It is using a Mediatek MT7620A with 4MB flash rom and 64MB ram. I tried to start porting OpenWRT to make this worth the cost but that 4MB flash isn’t going to cut it. The company also can’t be bothered to include this product on their website, so no downloadable manual, firmware upgrades, etc. I wouldn’t trust this to be supported in the future if you have problems. The MT7620 is a good budget chip and has great stability, but is over a decade old.Besides all that, it does do what it claims to do. The configuration page is actually pretty good but this isn’t for someone not familiar with networking. This is not a plug and play solution. It includes a pretty good manual as well to help if you’re not familiar with networking, but it will be some work.I only recommend this if you need a USB powered bridge/repeater, have decent networking knowledge, and you can’t find one that has hardware that reflects it’s price.

Technically, it functions as it should.
We just bought a house, and we really need extended WiFi coverage.Although this device technically functions, it’s incredibly slow. I’d use it for instances where you just need low level traffic. Internet information searches and the like.I do like that it’s USB powered. I’m currently using it with a repurposed phone charger.I decided to experiment with it a bit. After setting it up on our home network. I removed it and transported it to a remote location. And although I can see the SSID – I can not connect to it. Once the home WiFi network was restored, it connected just fine. This is a problem if I can’t connect and then perform any needed fixes on the internal interface. It might just need some tweaking and I shouldn’t have to factory reset it to make changes if there’s no current available network.

Works as described
Usb powered.Easy to setup up from phone or computer.I use it as a repeater to extend my network out for my security parameter.Cameras have no issues keeping connected.
