Works as it’s Supposed to
I got this to add to my custom built PC. I only have 1 gigabit from my provider, but this will work great in the future if we ever decide to upgrade. It was my way of somewhat “future proofing” my computer. It works with Windows 11, and Windows automatically installed the necessary drivers. I hadn’t had any issues with my previous network card, and switching over didn’t seem to make a large difference (once again, I only have 1 gigabit from my provider). I haven’t had any issues with it, so I would likely recommend it.

Easy Install 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PCIE Network Card
I picked up this 2.5 GB network card as part of my ongoing project to upgrade my network to full 2.5 GB capabilities. I had a PC that still needed a 2.5 gigabit card, and this one seemed like the perfect choice at the right price point. One thing that stood out to me about the packaging was that the card came packed in just a static bag inside the box. Most network cards I’ve purchased in the past have come with a plastic shell for extra protection. While I had no issues, I can see potential problems if the box were hit hard or something heavy landed on it.The card is advertised as compatible with Windows, and the machine I installed it in runs Windows 11. I replaced the old network card with this one, and Windows picked it up immediately without any issues. I used my Linux servers to conduct network speed tests using iperf. I ran several scenarios to ensure I was getting the speeds I expected. Iâm pleased to say that the performance of this card was very consistent across my network. While I never expect to get the full 2.5 GB speed, the results were very close, which is satisfactory for my needs.Overall, I’m very happy with this network card. It suited my needs perfectly and complemented my newly upgraded network. The value I got for the price was well worth it, and I recommend this network card.Pros:- Easy installation and compatibility with Windows 11- Consistent performance in network speed tests- Good value for the priceCons:- Packaging could use better protectionOverall, this network card is a great choice for upgrading your PC to 2.5 GB capabilities, providing reliable performance and good value for the price.

Rapid Internet Enhancement
I recently installed a new network card, and the difference is noticeable. The installation process was straightforward; I inserted it into my desktop, and it was ready. The speed increase is significantâdownloads and streaming are much smoother now. Gaming has also improved, with no more lag issues. For anyone considering an internet speed upgrade, this is a reliable option.

Network card for Win7ULT
Suppose to be plug-n-play. Did not work for Win7ULT. Had to get a driver off the internet. What I can not understand, if a driver is needed and you do not have internet access and themanufacture does not include it with the item, how can you get it to work if you do not haveanother computer to download the driver..I know it cost more money to include the driver onmedia but it should always come with an add-on card..I did get the card to work after someinstallation problems. So far worked for 2 weeks with no problems, would not say its real fast.

The WAVLINK 2.5G Base-T PCIe Network Card arrived packed ina printed cardboard box.In the box you get the network card itself (with a full height case bracket), a smaller low profile bracket (suitable for use in NAS cases etc) and a short instruction manual.Installation is a simple matter of plugging the card into a spare PCIe slot and securing the bracket. No drivers are necessary with Windows 11 and the card is immediately recognised on reboot.Card performs well although unless connecting directly to another similarly equipped PC or a NAS with 2.5Gbe ethernet, you will need a network switch with at least a 2.5Gbe port before you’ll notice any difference in network transfer speeds.A well featured network card at a bargain price.
Customer Review –
As sometimes happens with delivery services, things can become a little damaged during transit. In our case the box was a little battered in one corner and unfortunately the heatsink had come off the card. Normally if this happens you really should send it back to amazon for a refund or exchange. However, in our case we managed to repair it ourselves and we soldiered on.The card itself looks well made with a clean layout. Swapping the full size backplate for the half height one was easy enough, and fit perfectly in a low profile slot. The heatsink once fitted proper didnât pose much of a risk for other cards, and during heavy transfers didnât really get that hot anyway. When in use, on our network (primarily a 10G fiber), we saw steady 237MB/s over the network and this was using our old Cat5e ethernet drops from our 10G NAS. We had it plugged into the 2.5G port on our MikroTik RB5009 10G capable router. No software was included in the box, and seemingly very little in the way of product information that I could find on the wavlink website about it except for a link back to the drivers page at Realtek. The card uses the RTL8126 so is well supported, and it seems they have drivers going back as far as XP.Not a bad card, quite an easy upgrade for most PC. Just keep in mind that you need a 2.5G switch to get the most out of this upgrade, and if youâre planning on transferring network data, a spinning harddisk isnât going to cut it as they tend to max out around 180MB/s. While this is still a lot more than 1Gig ethernet, youâd be better off using an SSD for transfers.A nice simple card, that should work plug and play with every system youâre wanting to upgrade. A must have if youâre planning on getting one of the faster than gigabit ISPs.

This little gem is delivers speeds up to 2.5 times faster than your regular gigabit connections, which means minimal lag for streaming, speedy file transfers, and a smoother gaming experience. It fits nicely into a variety of PCI Express slots, making installation a breeze, no matter what kind of setup you have. The fact that it comes with both standard and low-profile brackets is a nice touch, ensuring it suits even the most compact PC cases. What really impresses me is the solid build quality and the price. You get all these amazing features without breaking the bank!

the heatsink is quite chunky for a WLAN card, not 100% sure if its needed but its a welcome addition. if you’re adding a WLAN card to your PC, you might as well get a 2.5 gigabit card to make full use of modern broadband or fibre. the drivers were detected straight away by Windows 11 so it was just plug and play. we all want Intel over RealTek but I haven’t ran into a single issue.
