YoLink products
Adding a smoke alarm to a stand alone shop on the property.YoLink’s water valves, smart plugs, motion sensors, gate/door contacts, temperature monitoring are the perfect solution when your WiFi just won’t reach the corners of your property. I have sensors over 600ft from the house and they work as expected without any monthly monitoring charges.I highly recommend their products for your 5-10 acre property, when you need to monitor what’s going on even when you’re not onsite. Also great customer support if you need assistance.

solid, long term solution for smoke detection
My new-to-me house had the original smoke detectors from the last rebuild – + 20 years ago… Time to replace! I have other yo link products including the hub 2 to cony them to. Like other yolink products they are well designed and straight forward to install.I got 3 smoke/co, one per floor per code and 5 smokes, 1 per room/living area. I also got the siren and centrally located it. If any smoke detector goes off, the siren goes off.I also got the add on virtualarm monitoring service. Easy to add and setup..I had another brand alarm at my last house and it was pretty much the same to set upI hooked it up, tested it, it works. 10 year battery life means no worries for a long timeBecause yolink products can be integrated with other things, I added it to my home automation system. I get centralized notifications. Also, if any yolink smoke sensor triggers, it shuts off any controlled fans and my HVAC system

Poorly made and malfunctions … no real help from customer service
Poorly manufactured and when you experience technical issues there is no help from them once customer service realizes that they can’t fix the problem.

Great company with Great technology
I have have five of their hubs that protect five different properties of mine. I heard about this company on a tech podcast that was raving about them. I can’t agree more. The technology they use is called LoRa. You can Google it. It is a long range radio technology. The signal travels about 1/4 of a mile, if not more from the hub. I have read it working up to 1/2 mile away. The importance of this is in your home, the signal will always reach your hub. I have one of their temp sensors that I put in my deep freezer and the signal penetrates those thick freezer walls and connects up to my hub on the other end of the house. The previous reviewer that gives this a one star review does not understand smoke detectors. It is recommended that you replace your smoke detector every 10 years. In other words, if you have a long lasting 10 year lithium battery, when the battery dies, you throw away the smoke detector. This is why they don’t have a replacement battery option. Although, I bet if you took out the screws, you could replace the battery. The reason why they say the battery will most likely last 10 years is because if you set off your smoke detector a lot, it clearly won’t last ten years. The reason this device is more money than your off the shelf smoke detector is because it is a smart detector that will notify you on your smart phone if it detects smoke. Zwave or any of the other smart thermostats are just as expensive. You pay for that notification ability.

ONLY LAST TEN YEARS
Nowhere in this Smoke Alarms advertisement did I read that it has a non-removable non-replaceable battery with a ‘most unlikely’ ten year life expectancy. If I had known so, I would not had paid over $75.oo- for this overpriced Smoke Alarm. I wish I could return it…
